Free parent resources for youth sailing programs
Program directors and coaches spend the start of every season answering the same parent questions. These pages are free and public. Link them in a welcome email, a handbook, or a regatta page.
What you can use
- Green Fleet parent handout: one printable page
- Your sailor's first Green Fleet regatta
- Optimist regatta packing list
- Sailing glossary: about 90 terms in US usage
How these pages are written
They follow the USODA Green Fleet Policy and US Sailing's Learn to Sail approach: safe, fun, high-quality sailing, skill goals before finish goals, and the coach's and race committee's authority on the water. They support your program's instruction. They don't replace it.
Privacy
No account is needed to read or print these pages. We don't collect information about sailors, and we never publish sailors' names or photos.
